The Green Globes Project of the Year Awards recognize excellence in sustainable, healthy, and resilient design and construction and/or operation. Project teams identify creative sustainability features that improve the building’s functionality, longevity, and value, clearly demonstrate sustainability goals, integrate innovative technologies and practices, remove barriers, and effectively communicate features and practices to encourage tenant participation.

THIRD PARTY ASSESSMENT PROGRAMS
GBI’s Guiding Principles Compliance Assessment Program was the first third-party assessment system to verify compliance with the federal Guiding Principles. The program provides a streamlined process, including dedicated third-party assessors, to minimize the amount of time and effort required from agency personnel to determine compliance with the Guiding Principles. Detailed reports outline compliance status, documentation guidance, and recommendations for improvement. GBI offers a variety of supplemental tools to enhance and clarify the process, including technical reference manuals, checklists, and external resources. GBI’s Guiding Principles Compliance verification sets the standard for accuracy, consistency, and credibility through a clear and simple yet robust evaluation process.

Green Globes Journey to Net Zero™ advances decarbonization in the global built environment by empowering all commercial real estate owners to evaluate performance using a science-based approach and implement impactful change. GBI’s proprietary tools and signature support facilitate calculation of energy and/or carbon reduction against an established baseline and guide users toward continual improvement over time. GBI meets all building owners where they are and guides them through a transparent process to incorporate sustainable design, operations, and renewable energy strategies to reach net zero. The program encourages all building owners - whether just getting started or having made significant progress - to evaluate and transparently report on their journey.

Green Globes is a comprehensive, science-based, three-in-one certification system that evaluates the environmental sustainability, health & wellness, and resilience of all types of commercial real estate. Designed to allow building owners and managers to select which sustainability features best fit their building and occupants, Green Globes certifies projects that meet at least 35% of the 1,000 points that are deemed applicable to the project. Our custom-tailored approach helps you produce the most sustainable outcomes based on your building’s type, location, budget, and occupancy needs. The Green Globes transparent and user-friendly software allows project teams to import and monitor performance for individual buildings through entire portfolios and compare building performance.
